After providing a similar solution to Hutt Valley District Health Board, TenFour were engaged by Forte Health, to design; install and configure four new leading-edge technology and high definition integrated theatres with training, recording and conferencing functionality.
Our solution, allows images from the four theatres to be projected into training rooms. Students, nurses and medical colleagues are able to watch and ask surgeons questions during procedures. This is achieved using ‘one-touch control’ to distribute a mixture of digital and analog inputs (of different resolutions) to high definition monitors. The solution also utilises seamless switching between sources, and has the ability to record both video and audio.
The backbone of the solution is Crestron DigitalMedia (DM). DM is a field-proven, end-to-end 4K certified solution and was chosen for its reliability and endless features. DM utilises flexible, scalable architecture to manage and distribute digital AV and control signals. DM is modular; supporting both digital and analog signal types and includes QuickSwitch HD® technology to manage HDCP keys for reliable, low-latency switching. DM allows for easy set-up and diagnostics and has a half-million hour rated internal universal power supply. All key requirements for critical facilities such as operating theatres.
Since opening in early 2014, surgeons from multiple disciplines have used the theatres to perform thousands of life-changing short-stay operation procedures.
With the help of Vaddio HD cameras and microphones, Forté Health is able to utilise the theatres for training, teaching and professional development. Operations can be streamed live into training rooms where a procedure can be closely followed by other specialists or students. Procedures can also be recorded for later playback on laptop or tablet devices.
TenFour continue to support Forté Health, monitoring the digital theatre technology via their Christchurch Office.
